HP Deemed Most Unreliable Laptop / Netbook Brand by SquareTrade Study
Source: http://www.squaretrade.com/htm/pdf/SquareTrade_laptop_reliability_1109.pdf
Study on over 30,000 laptops and netbooks covered by SquareTrade warranty indicates HP models have a higher malfunction rate even just after 2 years of use. Failures projected to be even greater just a year later.
I’m not surprised.

I used to have a fujitsu Siemens laptop that broke down three times in two year. Now I have a HP and no problems.

Then there was the purchasing of Compaq and the fines and near arrests of the Board.
And, now this.
I know the Packard family regrets the day they ever turned over control to others.
The further away from the original engineers and the pride of engineering that went into the original name, the more vulnerable a company like HP becomes evidently.
A lot of people got a lot of awards for outstanding leadership to achieve this lack of product reliability.

Who says ASUS is inferior? I don't know WHERE you heard that but they're 100% WRONG. All the biggest overclocking sites, and reviewing sites praise ASUS for their quality, and reliability. I own 4 computers either built from ASUS components or built by ASUS. Two laptops, and two gaming rigs, the latter I built myself.
I myself, was NOT surprised by seeing Toshiba and ASUS on the left of the graph.
Great screenie Carlo!

The surprise is "Asus" which most people consider to be an inferior brand. Go figure.
